Contrabbando di farmaci La sfida di tre giovani africani

Camerun-Italia e ritorno «Noi, laureati d'Africa» di MARGHERITA DE BAC

Il progetto mira a migliorare le condizioni di salute di tante persone che altrimenti cadrebbero nella rete dei venditori di strada Rick, Evina e Quintin non immaginavano che sarebbero diventati ambasciatori dell'arte galenica sicura ed efficace in Camerun. Partiti alcuni anni fa da Bamenda per prendere la laurea in farmacia nelle nostre università, i tre ragazzi hanno avuto la fortuna e la bravura di frequentare uno stage nei laboratori di un'azienda farmaceutica italiana, la Ibi Lorenzini, con sede ad Aprilia. Nello stabilimento hanno imparato le buone pratiche della preparazione dei farmaci seguendo il percorso che porta al confezionamento di un prodotto secondo le normative europee e americane. Oggi si stanno dando da fare per mettere in piedi nel loro Paese un laboratorio con le stesse caratteristiche di affidabilità e formare altri giovani studenti di farmacia. Un'attività dalla doppia valenza sociale: creare un centro capace di trovare soluzioni terapeutiche e offrire posti di lavoro ai laureati che altrimenti sarebbero di MARGHERITA DE BAC obbligati a cercare fortuna altrove o a rinunciare alla professione sognata. Dietro questo progetto c'è Camilla Borghese Khevenhueller, presidente di un'azienda che per il centenario della nascita ha voluto rendersi mecenate finanziando tre borse di studio per i laureati africani: 41 nostro desiderio è dare un contributo culturale ai giovani e sostenerli attraverso programmi di contrasto al contrabbando locale di farmaci. Attività molto diffusa nei Paesi poveri e anche in Camerun dove è facile acquistare su banchetti di strada falsi medicinali privi di qualsiasi principio attivo o addirittura pericolosi». Rick, Evina e Quintin vogliono invece fornire alla popolazione terapie galeniche di buona qualità, realmente capaci di curare e migliorare le condizioni di salute di tante persone che altrimenti cadrebbero negli inganni dei venditori stradali. È una bella storia di emigranti tornati in patria culturalmente arricchiti. Le università di Tor Vergata a Roma e di Camerino e Urbino, frequentate da un discreto numero di studenti del centro Africa, sostenute da Ibi Lorenzini hanno fornito ai giovani i mezzi per compiere il salto e cercare un futuro migliore per se stessi e la loro generazione. Ma non sarà facile affermarsi perché le condizioni politiche del Paese rischiano di vanificare tanti sforzi. Da oltre un anno la zona anglofona del Camerun, con capoluogo Bamenda, vorrebbe staccarsi dalla nazione a maggioranza francofona e conquistare l'indipendenza. Proprio presso la facoltà di farmacia di Bamenda stava per nascere il laboratorio galenico attrezzato di incapsulatrice, compremitrice ed altri strumenti finanziati dalla Cei. Attualmente è tutto fermo, i tre giovani non possono raggiungere la capitale e in via temporanea fanno base all'università di Dschang dove pero non dispongono dei materiali necessari per far decollare il progetto. La nuova avventura è solo rimandata. Oltre al programma di sviluppo della galenica hanno in mente di avviare la produzione di strati di Moringa Oleifera, una pianta soprannominata l'albero miracoloso. È diffusa nella fascia equatoriale e tropicale del Paese, è nota per le sue proprietà terapeutiche ed è capace di rafforzare le difese del sistema immunitario.

(hereinafter I.B.I.), which can be accessed at the following address: www.ibi-lorenzini.it, the opening page of the official I.B.I. website. The notice only applies to the I.B.I. website. It does not apply to any other websites that the user may access through links.

  1. The processing of the personal data that you supply, which are also used for the creation of your user profile, and which will be included in the “Doctors’ Details” database, has the following purposes:

  • carry out medical sales related activities for drugs for human consumption. Istituto Biochimico Italiano Giovanni Lorenzini S.p.A. and Ibigen S.r.l., part of the same company group (hereinafter also Ibigen Group), carry out such activities in compliance with the provisions of the current regulations, with particular, but not exclusive, attention to Italian Legislative Decree no. 219 of 24.04.2006 and subsequent modifications. In view of the objectives of the Ibigen Group, it is important to point out that the processing activities do not deal with any special data. The supply of the data for the medical sales activities is necessary, and failure to provide consent will make it impossible for us to fulfil the above objectives;

  • forwarding of invitations or information on congresses, conferences, seminars, communications on initiatives promoted or sponsored by the Ibigen group, regular or occasional publications, information on new products, methods and services. Such activities are carried out by e-mail, fax, SMS, normal post or telephone. The supply of the data for such purposes is optional, and failure to supply them will result in the information not being forwarded.

  1. As far as the creation of your profile on our website, we remind you that your password is strictly confidential and should not be disclosed.
  2. Your data will not be disclosed, but may be shared with individuals, companies, associations or professional studios providing support or consultancy services to the Ibigen Group, the medical sales representative network, our suppliers and any sub-suppliers - from time to time entrusted with activities connected with the above objectives -, mailing or statistical survey companies, or companies for the forwarding of scientific documentation, and individuals authorised to access the data by law and/or pursuant to secondary regulations.
  3. Such people may only acquire knowledge of your personal data for the above mentioned purposes.
  4. The Owners of the Treatment (Data Controllers) are the two companies of the Ibigen Group with legal headquarters at Via Fossignano no. 2, Aprilia (LT), Italy.
  5. Personal data are processed using manual and automated means, for the time necessary for reaching the objectives for which they were collected. Special safety measures are in place to avoid data loss, unlawful or incorrect use and unauthorised access.
  6. Lastly, we also inform you that you can at any time exercise the rights contemplated by the Regulation, and in particular request access to the data, their correction, update and block, or you can withdraw your consent, or request the limitation of the processing or the cancellation of the data.
